Water Utility Worker 1


$36.16 to $41.11 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

Vaughn Water Company supplies residential and commercial water service to the Rosedale area of Bakersfield. The Company is accepting applications for the position of Water Utility Worker 1. This person must have the ability to perform various manual labor related tasks including reading water meters, repair and maintenance on the Company’s water distribution system, and assisting with repair work, maintenance, and cleaning at Company facilities. This person must be willing and able to work outdoors under various weather conditions while performing manual labor and physically demanding tasks. A valid California Grade 2 Water Distribution System Operator Certificate or a valid California Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator Certificate is required.

This is a full-time position, and the Company offers a complete benefits package including health insurance, vacation and sick time, 401-K pension plan, a competitive salary commensurate with experience, and opportunity for advancement. A physical and drug screen will be required.  EOE   M/F

B) The assigned duties are physically challenging in general. This person must be willing and able to work outdoors, in all types of weather, and be able to perform manual labor and physically demanding tasks.

C) A valid California Grade 2 Distribution Operator Certificate, or, a valid California Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator Certificate is required for this position. A valid California Grade 3 Distribution Operator or California Grade 3 Treatment Operator Certificate is preferred.

D) A valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record is required (2 points or less / no DUI conviction / no Reckless conviction).
